Final results ACT! 2012: Lorea & Ekta Parishad elected ex aequo

At the end of our consultation Ekta Parishad and Lorea – who clearly obtained the largest number of supports – have been chosen ex aequo as Action for a Common Transformation (ACT! 2012) for the following reasons:

- Both organizations had nearly the same number of supports.
- Both organizations have shown a wide range of supporters from different networks, movements and organizations.
- Both organizations have shown an impressive amount of commitment, time and effort in mobilizing support for their cause and for the consultation.
- The two proposals are complementary.

We appreciate the participation of more than 3900 users from around the world who have registered in the consultation to support the ACT! 2012.
We are now at the beginning of an exciting and vital new stage of the process: let’s get started with the ACT! 2012. The idea behind the Action for a Common Transformation is to carry out one activity in places all over the world. An activity which moves our planet to being a slightly bit more like we would want it to be. The idea is to have citizens, organizations and social movements working together on one big project – working contemporarily and cooperatively.

The idea of ACT! derives from the Barcelona Consensus, a document drafted over the period of one year by 150 academics and activists from all continents. It indicates objectives and paths to overcome the urgent structural problems we are encountering today. Barcelona Consensus is made out of 7 transitions towards a world livable for all and the necessary actions to make it reality.

Having people signing the commitment and embarking with us on the journey of the Barcelona Consensus is crucial for continuing our work for a better world for everyone.
